We are just completing a fantastic year bringing RainStor to the US market with the latest version of our data management technology, RainStor 3.5, which has been optimized for ‘BIG DATA’ retention. RainStor enables organizations to reduce the cost and complexity of satisfying business and compliance requirements to preserve historical data. With an expanding network of partners we will end 2009 with over 50 customer deployments, spread across a range of industries in different geographies and addressing a wide variety of application and structured data types.
So what is so compelling about what we are doing … RainStor reduces by an order of magnitude the cost and complexity of owning large volumes of structured data. RainStor can take structured data from any source, compress it massively (40x) and store the resulting data files on any platform including CAS devices and the Cloud. Furthermore, RainStor keeps the compressed data online and fully queryable through any reporting tool while ensuring the data is completely protected and secure. And all of this is possible with zero design and minimal admin. We’ve also designed RainStor to plug into a broad range of applications and infrastructure enabling our partners to address a wide range of data retention solutions without the big iron and complexities associated with conventional databases and data warehouses.
It’s a pretty a big claim … but as they say where I come from “the proof is in the pudding”. Talking about where I come from, RainStor started life as Clearpace in the UK. The technology actually has roots in the UK defence industry and is the result of years of engineering and is a truly differentiated and patented technology. As we continue to expand our partner network we will move our commercial epicenter to the US. We have opened offices in San Francisco and will build out the organization to both extend and support our partner network who are delivering information retention solutions in the enterprise and the cloud.
